I attended my first portrait workshop, run by Mark Galer and hosted by the Sony Centre in Nunawading. It was a great learning experience, even though it was short. Mark very quickly covered the core elements of portrait framing, lighting and camera settings, and then we had a session with the model, Amy, who was patient enough to pose for a bunch of amateurs.
I've posted a few of the photos I took below. I'm really pleased with them, mostly because I managed to put Mark's lessons into practice. This was done using a Sony a7 R3 and the Sony 85mm GM Lens at f/1.4 to create the narrow DOF. Some post-processing in Capture One, mostly around colour.
